STANDARD INSTALL of Quality Access Ramps [Images A, B, C & D].

Slight Convex or Concave curved driveway entrance from the road/curb/road side entry.

As per the “B” and “C” images above. All of these images are examples of a Standard Install which are of the highest quality materials and labour (install and cutting etc). And around 95% of the other images that you can see on here on this website. It just means I fit and install them as Straight lengths with 90-degree or right-angle Butt Joins with a small gap (due to the undulating concrete or a slight curve in the road). All of these straight line or a slight curve installs that you can see – The Standard Install – will be placed around 30-50mm out from the roadside curb edge, which gets rid of leaves and water flow etc behind the KERBY™, using straight 1m-4m lengths. This makes for a softer angle, less of a bump, quieter and safer busy road access. All the Butt Joints that you see will have a small gap that most people normally don’t worry about as the car tyres won’t fall into those small gaps. I haven’t heard of any car tyres being cut by the ramp edges to date as tyres can easily handle the ramps and joins, as tyres are hard yet flexible, (do not drive over the ends of the ramps straight on as you are not covered). That’s why we designed it this way after a lot of testing and to take the forces of even a truck with a loaded container on it. Even the road sweepers love KERBY™ as it does not move and only gets slightly scuffed by the brushes. The Selwyn District Council (SDC) is happy with the product, just so you know.

CUSTOMISED INSTALLATIONS of Quality Access Ramps [Images E & F].

Tighter , More Complex  Concave and Convex Curves in the road/curb/road side entry.

As per the “E” and “F” images above. The same as the Standard Install but “custom templated, customised ‘angled’ cutting, fitted and fixed in place like a glove” (like number 11 on this website around a complex tight concave curve). These installs take quite a lot of extra time, (usually two-three visits plus 2-3 hours of extra work installing). The additional costs are added to the quote, plus the extra labour for the time involved installing and the materials can all be separated out. This includes/incurs the extra costs for precise cutting of custom angles to fit closer together than a Standard Install Butt Joint, additional drilling multiple more holes for the extra fixings etc), and the result will be very good looking tight angled joins, which means this type of Custom Install will be specified to happen up front as an additional job cost of normally around +$250+GST in labour*.

I am very fussy and install KERBY™ product to the best of my ability, as if it was better than my own property.

Remedial or Additional Work

If you are not happy with the Standard Install, I can uplift the KERBY™ lengths and take them away to get customised angles cut (about $100+GST extra), this will reduce the gaps, and the total width as the segments will come closer together as well as loosing material when you cut them, but again, due to the nature of undulating concrete means they still will not fit perfectly close together without a small angular gap as a join. There will be a few millimetres gap/buffer both in height and touching each other. They will look ‘tighter’ and better looking than a squarer Standard Install around a slight curve, or using longer lengths to go around a tighter curved curb, typically 1m and 2m lengths. The gaps around the back will be similar to a the original Standard Install. I will of course need to re-install the lengths in different concrete holes as they would have changed position slightly (about $100+GST extra for the time drilling and additional fixings (the Dynabolts/Sleeve Anchors) cannot be reused)). I also wish concrete was a perfect thing, but it is not apparent until when you start a Standard or Custom Install that there are variable heights and undulations in the concrete curb where the KERBY™ will be placed. The result will be a far superior ‘look’ when there are tighter gaps together, but similar gaps around the back of the KERBY™ as the final result. Half way between a Standard Install and a Custom Instal.

If I install the KERBY™ and you think it’s not wide enough, I can come along later and add an extra 500mm or 1m length on the side(s) for an additional cost (or even a custom cut length of any measurement less that 4m, as the lengths come in 4m standard lengths).
